Energy Footnote follows Chinese energy and climate policy in English. Each claim comes with the sentence it rests on, in the original Chinese, and a link to the official page where we read it.
A small reference site. It reads documents published by Chinese government bodies and regulators, and writes down what they say in plain English.
It starts with one topic: how China's provinces carry out Document 136, the national notice on market-based on-grid pricing for new-energy power.
Energy Footnote is a one-editor project. The editor reads the documents in Chinese and writes the short note at the top of each tracker. Software helps find new documents. Every claim is checked against its original sentence before it goes on a page.
